Tour Plan
Your driver will pick you up from your riad/hotel in Fes at 8:00 am. The adventure begins as we travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Continue through cedar forests near Azrou where you can see Barbary monkeys in their natural habitat.
We’ll cross the scenic Ziz Valley, with its vast palm groves, before arriving in Merzouga. At the edge of the desert, you’ll enjoy a warm welcome and a delicious dinner in your desert hotel. Overnight in Merzouga.
After breakfast, explore the Erg Chebbi dunes. Visit the village of Khamlia to enjoy traditional Gnawa music, then discover nomadic families living in the desert. In the late afternoon, your camel trek awaits — ride across the dunes at sunset to reach your Berber camp. Enjoy dinner by the campfire, live music, and a night under the Sahara stars.
Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast in Merzouga. Then we set off toward the spectacular Todra Gorges, a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. After free time to explore the canyon, we continue through the Dades Valley, famous for its red rock formations and kasbahs. Dinner and overnight stay in a traditional riad/hotel in Dades.
After breakfast, we drive along the Route of 1000 Kasbahs toward Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa” for its film studios. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous ksar, featured in movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Finally, we cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass before arriving in Marrakech in the evening.
